Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (A-G ACNP) track prepares graduates to provide independent and collaborative management of young, middle, and older adults from diverse populations who are suffering from acute, critical, or chronic illnesses. The program emphasizes stabilization and management of this population in a variety of settings. Practice sites are variable but focused in high-acuity inpatient settings.
A variety of clinical sites are available but must be within the State of Florida. Travel may be required periodically for structured clinical learning experiences. Individualized clinical learning experiences are arranged in appropriate health care settings. A-G ACNP graduates are eligible for national certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
